A Photo Session with the Vaskelionis Family

At the end of October I photographed the Vaskelionis family.  I love the vibrant blue colors that they chose to wear for their photo session.  It counter balanced so nicely with the golden-orange fall foliage.

Their daughter Sammie was simply gorgeous and had a smile that filled your heart with joy.  From one moment to the next it was so easy to capture her doing something completely natural and adorable.

The following black and white image is one of my absolute favorite images from the session.  When Sammie got on the ground to play with the rocks, I wasn’t sure whether it was worthy of me continuing to shoot, but I’m so happy that I made the right decision and  kept right on shooting.  The sweet interaction between Mom and Sammie and Sammie touching the tip of her Dad’s fingers just brings the whole image together for me of a real moment.  It still gives me goosebumps when I look at the image.  It’s simply beautiful.

I want to thank the Vaskelionis family for giving me the gift of capturing all these wonderful moments of Sammie.  I hope they always cherish these beautiful images of Sammie at this tender age.

A Photo Session with the Fercho Family

I photographed the Fercho family in early November.  Valery was 8 months pregnant at the time and oh how radiant and lovely she looked!  The golden fall light just seemed to wrap itself around this beautiful family with warmth.

Samantha, their daughter, was so curious about everything and walked independently as we wandered from one location to another.  And those furry white booties, well, they are just too much for me to take.

Thanks to the Fercho family for spending the afternoon with me, so that we could capture these wonderful warm images.  Can’t wait to meet baby #2!

A Portrait Session with the Murray Family

Late September is always one of my favorite times of the year to hold family photo sessions.  The weather and the start of foliage season, though it started late this year, always lends to colorful backdrops.

The Murray family invited me to photograph and document their family session at their home.   It was important to them to capture this time period in their lives in their very first home.  We also walked the neighborhood to capture environmental portraits.  I love the landscape and textures captured in these images, which adds to the story of their very first home, especially when they look back on it years from now.

The kids were so sweet and I had the best time capturing their cute personalties.  Emma’s little cowboy boots and her little blue dress were just adorable.  And Ben’s smile, well, it just lit up everything around him.  He was such a good sport throughout the whole photo session.

Thank you to the Murray family for a wonderful fall afternoon.  I enjoyed every moment that I spent with your family!

A Fall Session with the Rhodes Family

I photographed this beautiful family in mid-October of this year.  They welcomed me into their home where we shot some lovely outdoor environmental portraits in their backyard.

The kids were just so sweet and precious.  River and Stella both have the most beautiful blue eyes!  And when it came to posing–Stella had it down pat!   I love to document this age when it comes to children portraiture because in a blink of an eye they grow up so fast.

And look at Goliath and Elvis the family dogs below guarding and posing with their most precious family members!

One of my favorite shots is the one below with Stella and her pet guinea pigs!  She was so excited about it and anxiously awaited to have her portrait taken with them.  And the embellishments on the guinea pigs  just made my day!

River’s hairstyle is so endearing.  His mom told me it always stands up in the back like that and it’s his signature hairstyle, so we made sure not to photoshop it out.

What an honor it was to meet and photograph this beautiful family!

Lisa and Her Daughters

I shot this session this past summer and Lisa and her girls were just the sweetest.  The girls loved running around the park and as we neared the end of our session we all decided to get our feet wet.  This was actually my favorite part of the session and made for some great moments of the girls just having fun.

Another one of my favorite moments of just the girls laughing and sharing sisterly love!

Lisa and her girls were so much fun to work with!  I’m so happy that I got the chance to capture these outdoor environmental portraits for them!

Family Connections & Portraiture

I met Laura several years ago when she reached out to me about purchasing some images that I had photographed of her son, Paul, earlier that year.  Paul had done some modeling for me and he was an early supporter of my work.  He played a small role in helping me define my photographic style and the type of photography I wanted to put out there for public viewing.  I had dabbled in conceptual art photography for a while, but I  did a complete 360, and fell in love with family and high school senior portraiture.  There was something about capturing the family connection and the family story.  It stayed with me and I haven’t turned back since.

Jump ahead a few more years and once again I met up with Paul for a reunion of sorts, and we discussed doing some head shots for his social media outlets. This time I told him to make sure he shared the gallery with his mother.

Laura ended up reaching out to me once again and requested a separate portrait session for her daughter, Jenn, and also a family portrait session.  I was thrilled to oblige and happy that she was familiar with and loved my work.  It was great to meet Paul’s sister and his father too.  I was invited to their home and we shot these beautiful images in their backyard.  The location was stunning and lovely to wander through.

Can I say that I’m one lucky photographer to meet such a wonderful family!  Thanks to Paul for connecting and bringing us all together.

Betty and The Grandkids – Twin Bridge Park

When Betty brought to my attention that she was thinking about having me create a photo album of all her grandchildren–I knew, I wanted to create something special for her.  I suggested that we do an outdoor photo shoot, so she’d have a variety of images to choose from for a keepsake album.

Betty and I decided on a location that was easily accessible and safe, but still allowed the kids to run-around and explore without losing sight of them.  They all had a blast and burned lots of energy.  I wanted to capture them just being themselves and having fun.   And on top of it all, the light was just perfect and gave me the ethereal look I’m always after.

Juggling eight grandchildren for one grandmother is not an easy task, so thanks to Teresa who came along to help us out.

There’s no denying that all the children share a bond and friendship with their grandmother.  They say that a grandmother’s love for her grandchildren is like no other.  What I loved about this photo session was how the they all shared affection not only for their grandmother, but for one another as well.

Thank you Betty for giving me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family.  I hope you enjoy the photo album!  It was such a pleasure for me to not only take these photos, but make an album for you all to enjoy and look back on years from now.

Young Family Photo Session – Bedford Village Common

Meeting up with Becki and Adam and their children once again was a complete joy. They’re natural posers and always make my job so easy when it comes to setting them up for semi-natural poses. Getting them all to smile, move and look my way was effortless. I’m sure it must be from other members of their family constantly capturing such family cuteness over the years that makes them so natural in front of the camera.

I combined the family session with a mini-maternity session. Can I say that Becki, and I know this may sound like a complete maternity-cliche, but in her case it’s absolutely true: Becki is simply radiant! Motherhood and family life just suits her so well. She’s not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. And, her children adore her.

And Adam, well just look at him. He can’t stop smitten over his beautiful family! Wouldn’t you?

I look forward to future photo sessions with the Young family.  I may even have a few surprises coming up in the future.

Radke Family Photo Session

I was so excited and want to start off this blog essay by thanking the Radke family for choosing Photography by Wandering Images to photograph their family portrait session not once, not twice, but three times!  I photographed Jesse last fall and Taylor earlier this year and I was honored to photograph the entire family this time around!

I’m thrilled that I got to meet Alex and Oliver too!  I brought my husband with me to this session to help me carry my gear, so a special thank you to Alex and Oliver for keeping the husband entertained with discussions about golf.

I also have to give Lori many kudos for scheduling and taking the time to gather the entire family together before sending her two daughters off to college.  So much on her plate to juggle and plan.  Sending the girls off to separate colleges and traveling back and forth is no easy feat.   The wonder woman theme song runs through my mind as I type!  Yes, I’m from the Lynda Carter generation and every-now-and-then I hear that song when I see a woman accomplish amazing unselfish goals for her family.  It also warms my heart that Lori understands the importance of capturing the family at this stage in their lives.  And it’s a memory I hope she holds dear to her heart when she looks back on these photo images.

Thank you Lori once again for giving me this wonderful opportunity to photograph you and your family.  I look forward to keeping up with all your family dreams and goals thoughout the years.  I wish you and the family much happiness and success!

Ahnen Family Portrait Session

The last couple of weeks we’ve had a heat wave here in New Hampshire.  But for this photo session–shot in the late afternoon–it was just perfect and we even had a slight breeze.  The Ahnen family did a great job and it was such a pleasure to photograph them outdoors.  They were up to trying anything that I threw at them.  I’m very pleased with the images I captured of this lovely family within the open landscape.

Thanks to the Ahnen family for coming out and withstanding the heat.   I’m so thrilled and happy that you all loved the images!
