Nola, our child model, and her mom Whitney, came out and spent time with me and two other photographers on a fall November day for a styled photo session. The whimsical location, located in Chelmsford, MA, and Nola’s angelic presence inspired us all.
The late afternoon temperature was slightly cool, but bearable. When it got too cold for Nola to stand-still and wait on us to change our settings, we encouraged Nola to run around in order to warm-up. This always brought smiles to our faces because Nola really enjoyed this part of the photo shoot tremendously.
This little girl is so talented. Nola and her brother Coe played the MacDuff children in the Harvard production of Macbeth. Whitney told me they were both so thrilled to hang out with the college kids. Nola has been in three Shakespearean plays so far and her mom told me Nola loves the challenge.
When she’s not acting Nola plays soccer, lacrosse, and loves skiing with her family. She loves the outdoors and has always been super active. She’s also a huge Harry Potter fan. I loved learning that Nola always has her nose in a book—once she starts—her mom stated, she can’t put the book down. Now that’s a girl after my own heart!
Lastly, her mom mentioned that Nola told her she wants to be a veterinarian someday. Her dog, Gravy, is a beautiful brown Borador, which is a mix between a Border Collie and a Labrador Retriever. Nola is reading the book ‘Chaser’ which is about training Border Collies. She taught Gravy to give her paw in one night.
Whitney – your little girl is absolutely beautiful and talented. You mentioned that Nola is proud of her partial Norwegian ancestry and that her first name is Kallan. I’m certainly not surprised to learn that her name means powerful in battle!
Nola – I hope we get to do another photo shoot together someday soon! And that I get to meet your brother Coe the next time around!
